Building better play experiences for the whole community.
EBG was engaged by Northern Beaches Council to completely redevelop an existing playground under the NSW Government’s Everyone Can Play initiative. The project created a safer, more inclusive environment supporting play for children of all ages and abilities.
Following demolition and site clearing, EBG delivered coloured concrete pathways, off-form concrete seating, a new shade-sail structure with designed footings, playground fencing and reinstated drinking-water services. Council-supplied play equipment and sandstone boulders were installed alongside synthetic turf, rubber softfall, mulch and soft landscaping.
Extensive roots from established fig trees presented a significant challenge, conflicting with the proposed equipment and fencing layout. EBG worked closely with Council and the project arborist to selectively manage the roots and modify the installation layout while protecting the surrounding trees.
Through close coordination with Council, EBG maintained progress and achieved practical completion by the agreed date, delivering an accessible and engaging community playground designed for years of inclusive family use.
