Renewing a neighbourhood space for everyday play.
The Bellevue Park Playground upgrade at Bellevue Hill was delivered for Woollahra Municipal Council to renew the playground’s surfacing and surrounding paths. Completed in August 2019, the $150,000 project combined civil works with careful management of the public park setting.
Works commenced with the removal and lawful disposal of existing hazardous materials, followed by bulk excavation to prepare the areas for renewal. EBG managed the importation and placement of dense graded base material, controlling quantities to establish the sub-base for the new rubber softfall surface.
New concrete paths and rounded concrete edge beams defined the playground and adjoining pedestrian routes. Rubber softfall surfacing completed the principal works, integrating the prepared ground, concrete edging and play surface with the landscaped surroundings.
As head contractor, EBG managed site safety and environmental controls throughout delivery. Secure work areas, pedestrian and traffic management, and coordinated excavation and material deliveries helped minimise impacts on the surrounding neighbourhood. These measures supported delivery of the upgrade within an established community setting.
